Water, water, water, the first in fact of the water zodiac signs, is the CANCER. Their most common known attributes are nurturing, loyal, and protective, but they’re also sensitive, compassionate, and loving, with a silly goose sense of humor. The cancer is represented by the crab which symbolizes their crab and has a sea spider sense of knowing, like spidey sensies.

To ride the wave of water and embrace the emotional magick of the New Moon in Cancer, we are switching up our new moon ritual for this month of July.

First start with a light, peaceful meditation or prayer of giving thanks for all of your emotions and experiences so far this year. Specifically giving thanks for the lifeforce of our mother Gaia, water. Honoring all of our majestic oceans, paying homage to our beloved lakes and rivers, and a heartfelt mention of gratitude for the sweet babbling brooks and elegant creeks that kiss the rocks of the incredible planet.

This new moon, instead of burning your intentions, grab a bowl of water, and a floating candle if you have one, (but a regular candle next to bowl is just fine), during your new moon ceremony, write down your manifestations on the paper, and fold it three times towards you and place it in a bowl to dissolve in the water. Leave the bowl with intentions and your favorite crystal outside overnight, under the moon light.

Remember you are loved and protected and the moon is always guiding you and watching over you. The new moon reminds us, that even in the darkest of night, there is always light and the assurance of the return of light in this new cycle.
